What I Wore!

Recently my eight year old little cousin made her communion and it was a very special day for the whole family. In the morning we went to the mass and then they had family a friends over to the house for food, drinks and celebrations!

After just finishing college and continuing my search for a job I realised I had completely forgotten to buy an outfit. I quickly remembered a shop I had been in a few weeks ago with beautiful dresses so I decided to pay them a visit first and low and behold the first dress I tried on was the one! The dress was also very reasonably priced at only 68 Euros and was designed and made in London by "Closet"

Then a search for the heels was a little harder than the dress... after visiting countless shops I went into river island and found the perfect pair! All sizes were sold out but I managed to pick up the last pair in a size three, it was a bit of a squeeze but well worth it! The shoes were a little bit more expensive that the dress at around 70 Euro which was still not too bad!

I topped the outfit off with my Ray Ban Wayfarer sunglasses as the weather was amazing that day and it was extremely sunny! Apologies for the badly cropped photo but I completely forgot to get a picture of my outfit on my own.

Mini Haul.

After a week of sickness, I decided it was time for me to venture back out into the real world again. And what better way to do that than go shopping?! It was my first day out of the house in a week after recovering from tonsillitis so I knew I needed a little pick me up. Boots was my first port of call!

I didn't go as crazy inside boots as I had planned to but I did purchase a new mascara and eye shadow stick! I was in terrible need of a new mascara and as I had well and truly loved my old soap and glory one I said id give another one of their mascaras a try! I ended up buying their "Thick and Fast, High-definition collagen coat mascara" and I can honestly say I love this even more than the one that came before it! The packaging is also beautiful! It has a gold coloured tube with black bold writing, keeping it very classy! After a few days of trying this mascara out I can not rave about it enough! It gives length and volume to my lashes without clumping. I give my eyelashes a quick curl before applying the mascara and the hold for the whole day!

I also managed to pick up the new "Bourjois Colour Band Eyeshadow and Liner" in the colour 02 Brun. This is a beautiful bronze copper shade and would be perfect for anybody with blue/green eyes! I haven't had a chance to try it out yet but when I swatched it on my hand, it would not budge when I tried to remove it, which is always a good sign.

I then moved on to lush where I decided to invest in a bubble bar for my baths! After a long discussion with the lovely shop assistant I decided "The Comforter" was the one for me and it definitely was the right choice because I nearly feel asleep in the bath on Saturday! I found that this bubble bar left my skin feeling incredibly soft as well which was amazing!

Last but certainly not least I ventured into Water Stones book store where I picked up a new book entitled "The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks" by E. Lockhart. I've previously read one of this authors' books and loved it so I said I'd try another one. All in all I was delighted with my purchases and certainly felt a lot better after picking all these goodies up!

Favourite Lip Product!

So after the dramatic and devastating moment when I realised I had misplaced my favourite MAC lipstick "Faux", I decided to stop wallowing in self pity and go out and buy myself a new lipstick. Not wanting to buy "Faux" again as there's still hope that it might turn up in one of my hand bags, I decided to go for something similar but different. I ended up purchasing "Brave" another raved about Mac lipstick and its matching lip liner "Dervish".

I can honestly say I have never been more in love with lip products as I have been with these. The lipstick is just a shade lighter than "Faux" and a little bit more pink. The lip liner is the perfect match and some times when I'm going for a matte lip I just apply the lip liner. It really brightens the make up look and works just as well with a dark smokey eye as it does with a bight eyed look.

These products have also helped with my over drawing lip skills. As they weren't to dark I could get away with slightly over drawing them which allowed me to perfect them day by day. I honestly cant rave about these products more and they're quickly diminishing *sad face*. One thing is for sure, when they do run out I will definitely be repurchasing them.

What's On My Face For Spring/Summer.

At the moment I've got those spring/summer feels as the weather is slightly starting to get a bit warmer and the sun is starting to peak out. I cant wait to start wearing bright and fresh make-up again. During the week I gave this fresh look a try and it got me even more excited for spring and summer! I cant wait to start wearing bright coloured lips again with neutral eyes and nice pops of colour with my blusher.
For this eye look I used my Charlotte Tilbury "Golden Goddess" eye shadow pallet along with Stilla's "Stay All Day" liquid eye liner in black, I also used benefits "They're Real" mascara and in my brows I used the Charlotte Tilbury eye brow pencil in the shade "Cara D". For my lips I  used Bourjois "Rouge Edition Velvet" in the colour Hot Pepper. On the rest of my face I wore Nars "Sheer Glow Foundation"  with their "Radiant Creamy Concealer" under my eyes and down the bridge of my nose. To contour I used Benefits "Hola" bronzer and for blush I broke out Nars "Orgasm". I was delighted with this over all look and I think I be wearing it a lot this spring/summer when I'm in the mood for a bold lip!

My Sick Day Routine

For people like myself who often struggle with flu's and colds, it is essential to have a routine to get you up and feeling your absolute best. The first thing I like to do when I wake up is have a nice breakfast, normally I try to stick to a healthy breakfast but when I'm not feeling great its nice to have a treat/pick-me-up like french toast or pancakes, if someone is kind enough to cook them for you.

After breakfast is usually when I try to have a hot shower, the steam opens up my air ways a bit more allowing me to feel a little bit better. The steam combined with a lovely scented shower gel from lush makes me feel like a million dollars. At the moment I'm using their Christmas collection shower gel called "Rose Jam". When I do manage get out of the shower I feel ten times better, even if it is just for a half an hour. After the shower I cleanse and moisturise my face.

If I must venture out into the world I like to tie my hair back into a pony tail or braid, this helps keep the hair off my face until I'm able to go home again. For make-up I try to use a minimal amount which normally consists of some mascara, blusher, concealer and a little bit of bronzer. The blusher and bronzer are my main focus and it puts little bit colour back into my face instead of looking like a ghost. That green colour people turn when their sick is not appealing on anybody. For my lips I just use a clear lip balm because there is nothing worse than being sick and also having dry cracked lips. Am i right?

When I get home I take off all my make up and head straight for bed as I am normally wiped out at this stage. There is nothing better than getting into nice, new, clean bedding so normally when I'm starting to get over my sickness I change it, this also gets rid of all the germs that were previously there.

I try to drink as much water as I can throughout the day as I feel a huge difference in regards my health at the end of the day if I don't drink enough fluids. If I do have the flu or a cold I like to use the softest tissues possible on my nose. I generally gravitate to Kleenex that has some sort of soft balm so I don't look like Rudolf for the whole day.

I hope this is helpful and if you are sick hopefully you begin to feel better soon!
